Wychmere Beach Club Wedding Photos
Once a year or so, I photograph a wedding at beautiful Wychmere Beach Club on Cape Cod, and every time we are blessed with incredible weather and an absolutely epic dance party! I am so lucky to have such fun couples to work with, and I absolutely loved the weekend I spent documenting Erin & Kevin's weddings ... yes, weddings plural!
Kevin and Erin chose to have a very small ceremony with just their closest family on Friday afternoon and it was a treat to document this super intimate event. Erin wore her mom's wedding dress which was so stunning. There are not many styles from previous decades that would still look current today but her dress was beyond perfect on Erin. After the ceremony we took a few family photos, then stopped by the guys' rental home for some very fun beer pong photos (coming soon!) I am saving the Friday ceremony photos to share privately with the couple.
On Saturday, we started at the girls' home for getting ready and detail photos. How pretty is this invitation suite?! Their wonderful coordinator Liz of Elegant Aura was on hand to help with the styling (Liz, I loved working with you again, you are a true gem!) Despite little sleep the night before, everyone was in great spirits and there were some beautiful moments between Erin and her friends and family. I loved how various friends held Erin's hand during hair and makeup, and the moments getting dressed with her mom, sister and best friend were some of my favorites. I also adored Erin and her dad's sweet first look.
Erin's first look with Kevin was at the Overlook, then we took group photos both there and at Wychmere. It was great to have plenty of time pre-ceremony to take family photos so that everyone could relax and enjoy cocktail hour. I love that they added a few photos in front of the stunning ceremony arbor, including a very fun petal toss with the full wedding party!
Some other favorite moments from the day included the amazing prop-filled toast by Erin's mom. There were some really funny moments as she illustrated her favorite aspects of Kevin and Erin's personalities through props that included a pottery fish from Erin's childhood art adventures, and a gallon jar of gumballs. :) Also the adorable parent dances post dinner. And, of course, the epic dance party! I had no idea that 'Zombie' by The Cranberries could have such a wild effect on a dance floor ... so great! And of course the limbo ...
Thank you Erin and Kevin for the best time all weekend. I adore you both! I hope you enjoy these highlights, and I can't wait to share the full set from both days in a few more weeks.
