Seaport Hotel Wedding Photos: Nicole & Jared

I quickly fell for Nikki & Jared when I first met with them over a Zoom call quite some time ago. Their enthusiasm is contagious, and they are also the kindest souls, both working in medical fields, caring for others. We had an amazingly fun engagement session here in Beverly last summer, and what a treat to finally be able to document their beautiful wedding day for them!

Nikki worked so hard on the design for this wedding, and her attention to detail really showed. She provided me with a beautiful spread for their flatlay photos (Jared got one too!) including a locket that Nikki fastened to her bouquet, containing a photo of her grandmother that had passed, and featuring engraving in her grandmother's writing on the back. She also put so much care into so many of the other details that greeted guests including the beautiful memory display in the cocktail space, the hand made pillows spread throughout the various spaces, and - my favorite - the tiny models of their kitty-babies that were built into the bottom tier of their wedding cake. One of my favorite moments was Jared exclaiming, "oh, my girls!" when he spotted the cake. :)

Some of my other favorite moments from this day included Nikki's first look with her dad (it was perfect - so sweet and emotional - not all dads get the "first look" concept!); both sets of parents reading hand written letters from Jared (they all cried!); Nicole's grand entrance into Cathedral of the Holy Cross with her dad - my remote camera captured the perfect balcony angle for me); various moments on the trolleys between locations, including the moms' dance-off to a Dirty Dancing song which was hilarious!

The reception was so full of great moments too, but four things really stood out. First, because they weren't allowed to read personal vows during the ceremony, they read them during dinner instead - what a special and beautiful moment to capture. Second, they performed an awesome salsa dance that they had practiced, to open up the dance floor. Third was Jared's drum performance with the band of an ACDC favorite (this was so cool and the crowd went WILD!) And finally, and perhaps my very favorite because it was a complete surprise for Nikki too: when it was time for the father-daughter dance, Nikki's father grabbed the mic to serenade her. I almost cried. I felt incredibly lucky to witness his absolutely stunning singing, and Nikki's wonderful reaction.

Thank you both for trusting me to photograph your beautiful Seaport Boston wedding; I hope you enjoy this teaser post!
